Apple Finally Moving Away From the Notch with Under-Display Face ID Technology, Know More

In light of recent reports, Apple is expected to make a major change to its iPhones with the introduction of under-display Face ID technology. This technology could help make the notch a thing of the past and provide more space for a larger display.

Rumors of Apple’s Under-Display Face ID:

Since the iPhone X release, there have been rumors that Apple would be able to hide the biometric technology under-display, thus eliminating the need for a notch.

As per AppleInsider’s report, the iPhone 15 Pro will not include this feature, and earliest it may only arrive on the iPhone 17 Pro

While recent rumors suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro would include this feature, it is now widely believed that the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024 will include it.

Delayed Release:

Apple is reportedly delaying the launch of the under-display Face ID feature on the iPhone until 2025 or later due to technical issues, according to display analyst Ross Young. The report claims that the 8 year notch era will end in 2025 if under-display Face ID is made available on the iPhone 16.

As per AppleInsider’s report, the iPhone 15 Pro will not include this feature, and earliest it may only arrive on the iPhone 17 Pro.

iPhone 16 Pro to Include Face ID:

In order to increase the usable display area, it was reported that the iPhone 16 Pro models will include under-display Face ID technology. This was further confirmed when analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that “high-end iPhones in 2024 would adopt an under-display front camera alongside the under-display Face ID”.
