Apple is reportedly working on the iPhone 18 Pro, which is rumored to feature major design changes. Leaks suggest that the company plans to move away from the dual-tone rear finish seen on the current iPhone 17 Pro models. According to tipster Momentary Digital, the next-generation iPhone may have a more unified back, which could impact the look and feel of Apple's flagship iPhones.

In the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple introduced a rear design with a glass cutout for MagSafe charging. This creates a color contrast between the aluminum unibody and the Ceramic Shield 2 cutout, which distinguishes the 17 Pro series from its predecessors. For the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple is planning to update the back glass replacement process to reduce the color difference between the glass and aluminum frame. If true, this would give the upcoming models a more unified design.

An attractive and robust design

In fact, the company chose to replace the glass and aluminum back of the iPhone 17 Pro to accommodate the position of the wireless charging coil. However, this design appears to disrupt the phone's unibody look, leading users to call it an "asymmetric design." Following this, it is now believed that the iPhone 18 Pro will feature a change in the back glass, eliminating the gap between the materials and creating a smoother and more robust design.

Three models may launch first

Some reports also claim that Apple's 2026 iPhone lineup could be one of the biggest changes yet. Furthermore, the company may launch only three flagship models: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold. The base iPhone 18 could launch in early 2027.
