New Delhi: An all India protest is going to happen on Tuesday by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions. Regarding the protest and its consequences amid lockdown, the Ministry of Home Affairs asked all the states including union territories to keep an eye on the preventive measures
The MHA asked the states and UTs to maintain law and order during the protest. Also, to check for the violations during the protest. The guidelines of lockdown should be followed and sufficient arrangements should be done.
There should sufficient force on the ground in case anything happens during the protest. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions is protesting in response to the effects of lockdown.
From March 24, there was a nationwide lockdown that was expected to end on April 14. However, the increasing cases of covid-19 in the country have forced the government to extend the lockdown.
Now, it will continue until May 3. But the workers across the country are suffering due to the lockdown. Therefore, CITU decided to protest and supporting the demands of affected workers.
The protest will happen on Tuesday that is April 21 regarding which MHA has asked to take the preventive measures. So, Director Generals of Police of all the states would be on alert and keeping an eye on the whole event.
However, no public gathering and any kind of religious congregation are allowed during the lockdown.
