Alia Bhatt reacted to James Cameron’s admiration of her film RRR by taking to Instagram to respond to a tweet by the film’s official Twitter handle. The tweet disclosed that an American journalist had said that the Avatar director “admires” the movie. RRR has recently been honored with the Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Song for Naatu Naatu.

Alia Bhatt posted on her Instagram Stories early Monday morning, expressing her joy about the success of RRR with the caption, “Uffff what a beautiful morning.” This was in response to a tweet by journalist Anne Thompson, who had written that James Cameron had commended the movie. Thompson’s tweet read, “RRR wins best foreign film at CCA — every bit of awareness helps get more folks to watch it! I introed myself to S.S. Rajamouli and my tablemate Jim Cameron admires the movie too.”

RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, has been awarded two Critics’ Choice Awards. This recognition follows the recent success of the movie at the Golden Globe Awards, where its song Naatu Naatu was honored as the Best Original Song. It had been nominated for five Critics Choice Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Song for Naatu Naatu, and Best Visual Effects.
The film has achieved notable success, making it to the BAFTA Film Awards longlist for the ‘film not in English language’ category, as well as the best music (original song) Oscars shortlist. It is also the highest grossing Indian film of 2022.
RRR features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the primary roles, with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in significant parts. Alia portrays Ram Charan’s childhood sweetheart and her role is integral to the plot. The movie is based on the lives of two freedom fighters from Telangana, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
