FabIndia’s new collection for Diwali made a grand entry into the market but not in the way the brand has thought. Jashn-e-Riwaaz- the title for its latest collection that aims to showcase Indian tradition and culture- is getting criticism rather than appreciation. BJP leader Tejasvi Surya has now joined the league warning Fabindia for presenting it inappropriately.
Surya tweeted,” Must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures” tagging FabIndia News. He also said it is done intentionally to Abrahamise Hinduism.
Deepavali is not Jash-e-Riwaaz.
This deliberate attempt of abrahamisation of Hindu festivals, depicting models without traditional Hindu attires, must be called out.
And brands like @FabindiaNews must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures. https://t.co/uCmEBpGqsc

Surya is not alone who found it disrespectful, several users on Twitter also trolled the brand for its new tagline “Jashn-e-Riwaz.”

Netizens Ask To BoyCott FabIndia For Models Not Wearing Bindis
Wow @FabindiaNews great job at de-Hinduising Deepawali! Call it a ‘festival of love and light’, title the collection ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’, take Bindis off foreheads of models but expect Hindus to buy your overpriced, mass produced products in the name of ‘homage to Indian culture’! https://t.co/S47g1ArUbB

Hello @FabindiaNews , You have named your company as Fab India but don’t even know how Indians dress up during Diwali . You call your collection traditional but forgot traditions of India. pic.twitter.com/xJP7KmsV4H

Will never buy your clothes. You are not meant for stupid things and disrespecting our culture. Change your media manager #fabindia #JashneRiwaaz and #Diwali2021 are different and have totally different significance. https://t.co/20YyHZLoXq
