Yamaha R7 Design

Yamaha launched the YZF-R7 in the Indian market and certain other markets as part of its R-series. It is designed to fill the gap between the entry-level supersport bike and the top-end litre-class bikes. The R7 engine originates from the CP2  parallel-twin 689.50 cc platform that Yamaha used in models like the MT-03, MT-07.

Yamaha R7 Engine & Performance

* R7 is powered by a 689cc liquid-cooled engine, a DOHC parallel twin engine with a 270° crankshaft shaft giving a strong mid-range torque.
* Output: 73.4 PS (72 hp) at 8,750 rpm & about 67Nm torque at above 6,500 rpm.
* Transmission is a six-speed gearbox, with an Assist and Slipper clutch to improve rideability and down-shift stability.

Suspension & Brakes, chassis

Suspension: In front 41mm inverted fork (adjustable) and the rear link-type Monoshock,
Brakes: Dual 298mm front disc and 243mm single disc at the rear with ABS standards, giving it strong stopping power
