World Gets First Patient Of Climate Change In Canada

After covid-19, its climate change that is severely affecting humans and the world has received the first glimpse of its harsh impact on human life. A woman has been diagnosed with “Climate Change” disease as mentioned in her reports. Doctor Kyle Merritt who is treating the old lady said this is the first case in his life.

Doctor Blames Canadian Heat Waves For Patient’s Condition

The patient has breathing issues and her condition is worse. She is also suffering from diabetes and got heart failure. The reason behind her degraded health is Canada heat waves and its impact is so intense that she cannot even stay hydrated.

Dr. Merritt thinks she may be the first but there might be many more. So, he searched out for similar conditions of patients in other hospitals. To study further and identify the close relationship between climate change and the health of his patients, he has set up a group called “Doctors and Nurses for Planetary Healthy”.

The patient lives in the British Columbia province of Canada where extreme heat waves events were experienced earlier in June this year. People struggled with high temperature that reached up to 46.9 degrees Centigrade during heat wave; it broke the previous record of 45 C temp.

Scientists called it a very rare event that got worse by the sudden change in the climate. Around 500 people died during this and several were admitted to the hospitals.
