Women’s team coach fined for drinking alcohol in bus, Hyderabad Cricket Association suspended

The incident came to light when an anonymous email was sent to the Hyderabad Cricket Association accusing senior women’s team coach Vidyut Jaisimha of drinking alcohol around the team and misbehaving with the players. In particular, a letter addressed to the parents of cricketers of Hyderabad’s senior women’s team accusing Vidyut of bad behavior went viral on social media.

Hyderabad senior women’s team coach Vidyut Jaisimha was suspended on Friday after he was allegedly found carrying and drinking liquor in the team bus. Hyderabad Cricket Association chief Jagan Mohan Rao has directed Vidyut to stay away from all cricket-related activities till the board’s investigation.

The incident came to light when an anonymous email was sent to the Hyderabad Cricket Association, accusing senior women’s team coach Vidyut Jaisimha of drinking alcohol around the team and misbehaving with the players. In particular, a letter addressed to the parents of cricketers of Hyderabad’s senior women’s team accusing Vidyut of bad behavior went viral on social media.

HCA president Jagan Mohan Rao also said that videos of Vidyut drinking alcohol in the team bus were being shared in local media and WhatsApp groups. He said, “Please note that HCA has received an anonymous email on 15-02-2024, which contained videos of you carrying and drinking liquor in the team bus with the Hyderabad State team. Also, the videos were shared in various WhatsApp groups. were also telecasted and also shown on TV news channels. This is a matter of grave concern and I have asked for a thorough investigation into the matter and a decision will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.”

He also said, “In the interim, while the investigation is ongoing, I am directing you to desist from engaging in any cricket activities on behalf of HCA.”
