Hyderabad Police has taken Allu Arjun for questioning. Recently, a woman was killed in a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa-2 at Sandhya Theatre. The actor is accused of reaching the theater without informing, due to which a large crowd gathered there.
Following this incident, the authorities had registered a case against the management of Sandhya Theatre, Allu Arjun and his security team. Police officials said that they had not received prior information regarding the presence of the film team at the screening.
Why was Allu Arjun arrested?
According to the information, Chikkadpally police has taken Allu Arjun to the police station for questioning. The case pertains to the stampede that broke out during the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2‘ in a theater in Hyderabad on December 4. A 39-year-old woman was killed and her son was seriously injured in the stampede. The police had registered a case against Sandhya Theater management, the actor and his security team. Officials had then said that the police had no prior information that the film team would come for the premiere.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Revathi. She was accompanied by her 13-year-old son Shritej, who also suffered suffocation injuries and is being treated at the hospital, where he has been kept under 48-hour observation. Based on the complaint by the deceased’s family, the police have registered a case against the actor, his security team and the theater management at Chikkadpally police station under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), he said.
Fans were not informed
Police said Allu Arjun reached the theater with his personal security, following which people tried to enter the cinema hall with him. His personal security team started pushing the public, which worsened the situation, as there was already a huge crowd in the theatre. Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand had said in a statement, ‘No information was given from the theater management or the team of actors that they would come to the theatre. Strict action will be taken as per law against all persons responsible for the chaotic situation inside the theater which led to the death of one person and injuries to others.’
Allu Arjun had apologized
On December 6, Allu Arjun finally spoke on the woman’s tragic death. After apologizing on X, the actor talked about it during a press meet in Hyderabad on Saturday. He apologized and said, ‘We are extremely sorry. we really didn’t know what happened. I have been doing this (going to theaters on the opening day) for 20 years. It is very unfortunate that this happened. Allu Arjun announced an assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the bereaved family. He also promised to bear the medical expenses of his 13-year-old son who was injured in the incident.
