Reports last month indicated that WhatsApp is creating a feature which would allow users to flag status updates that violate the instant messaging service's Terms of Service. Now, it appears that the Facebook-owned platform is developing a 'Report' button that will be located within the status options.

After selecting the 'Report' feature, which is located after 'Mute', 'Message', 'Voice call', 'Video call' and 'View contact', you can submit a status update to the company's moderation team for review. The moderation team will then assess if the update is in violation of the Terms and Services.

No changes will be made to WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption when the flagging feature is released; this guarantee of privacy remains the same. The feature is currently in the process of being developed for the Android version of the WhatsApp beta, with plans to be released in the future.
