Sunday match between Belgium and Morocco caused massive violence in Belgium as the team lost by 2-0

Disappointed fans showed their anger by setting cars on fire and damaging public property

But, gradually situation went out of control and police officers had to interfere

They said rioters came prepared and were carrying sticks, projectiles, and pyrotechnic material.

Situations in Antwerp, Liege, and Rotterdam city became severely tough and caused injury to locals

Reportedly, one person suffered facial injury and two police officers were injured too

Water cannons and tear gas was later used to control the rioters. Police also detained dozens of people.

Seeing the tough situation, Brussels mayor Philippe Close had requested people not to go to the city center

People were also advised not to use subway and trams during the riots in the city

Around 7 pm in the evening, police succeed in controlling the situation
