50 centers are being opened in 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh for the procurement of urad dal (black gram), and farmers will be able to sell their produce at a price of ₹7800 per quintal. Registration has already begun, and procurement will start soon. Farmers can register using the e-Samriddhi app or by visiting their nearest NAFED center. Details can also be obtained from the farmer helpline 1800-210-1222. The good news is that payment will be made directly to the farmers' bank accounts within 3 days of selling their produce.

Is this scheme beneficial for farmers?

The Atmanirbhar Dal Yojana (Self-Reliant Pulses Scheme), run by NAFED, will not only ensure a fixed price for the produce but will also eliminate the role of middlemen. Under the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED)'s Atmanirbhar Dal Yojana, direct procurement from farmers will continue until January 29, 2026. Rohit Jaiman (NAFED State Head) and Deepak Agarwal (Managing Director) are overseeing the entire process to ensure that every farmer in Uttar Pradesh benefits from this scheme. Jaiman said that farmers can bring their produce directly to the designated market centers for sale.
