Tokyo Olympics 2020 begins amid the pandemic in Japan on 23rd July. The first day started with the Individual Ranking Round where Indian star archers Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das, Praveen Jhadav, and Tarundeep were seen in action.
Tokyo Olympics 2020- Deepika Kumari Finished At 9th
World No. 1, Deepika Kumari slipped from 7th to 9th position in the ranking round with a total score of 663.

South Korean archer An San broke the record of Lina Herasymenko on the first day with a total of 680 scores. Jang Minhee and Chaeyoung Kang are the two other archers from S.Korea in the top 3 list.
The next round in Summer Olympics 2020 Tokyo is Women’s Individual Recurve in which Deepika Kumari will compete against Bhutan’s archer Karma. The event will take place on 27th July.

Summer Olympics 2020 Tokyo- Men Archers Failed To Get Under Top 30
In the men’s archery round, 3 archers from India succeed in gaining under 40. Jadhav Pravin finished at 31 with a score of 656. On the other hand, Atanu Das secured 35th position with a total score of 653 and Tarundeep Rai is at 37th in the Individual Ranking Round.
Again South Korea’s archers dominated the list. The youngest in the event, Kim Je Deok tops with a 688 score, two other archers from the country made it to the top 5.
Korea Tops The Men’s Team Rankings In Tokyo Olympics 2020
Well, the beginning is not satisfying for India but it managed to get the place under the top 10 teams. Like always, South Korea dominates the list with a total score of 2049. Others in the list are:

• China
• Japan
• United States
• Chinese Taipei
• Indonesia
• Kazakhstan
127 athletes from India are participating in the Summer Tokyo Olympics 2020. The opening ceremony of the event will be held on Friday evening. Manpreet Singh, Mary Kom, Ankita Raina, and 16 others from the country will attend the ceremony at the National Stadium of Japan.
