The New KTM 390 Adventure R could be Launched Soon in India

Premium and sports bike manufacturer KTM is preparing to launch a more off-road-focused version of its popular adventure motorcycle, the KTM 390 Adventure R, in January 2026. The KTM 390 Adventure R is a more off-road-focused motorcycle, offering 230 mm more suspension travel and greater ground clearance compared to the standard 390 Adventure. 

Considering the growing demand for more off-road capability among bike enthusiasts, KTM may decide to introduce the more focused KTM 390 Adventure R. At India Bike Week, the company shared information about the launch of the 390 Adventure R with a publication.

KTM 390 Adventure R Hardware 

Talking about the hardware of the 390 Adventure R, it comes with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, whereas the standard 390 Adventure has a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel size. In addition, it features long-travel suspension, which is 230 mm compared to 200 mm in the standard version, providing higher ground clearance as well, which is 272 mm compared to 232 mm in the standard version.

KTM 390 Adventure R Engine & performance

Powering the KTM 390 Adventure R is a 399 cc, single-cylinder engine that delivers strong performance for both off-road trails and highway touring.

Despite having the same engine output as the standard model, the Adventure R benefits from reducing weight and improved hardware.

KTM 390 Adventure R Price 

No information about its price has come out yet, but it is expected that the KTM 390 Adventure R will be priced at around 4.15 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

After its launch, KTMIndia will have a full range of mid-size adventure bikes, which will include the KTM 390 Adventure with X and standard variants, as well as the R variant for more skilled and experienced riders.
