The GATE 2026 Admit Card has not yet been made available by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.Candidates who plan to take the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering in 2026 can download their hall pass by visiting gate2026.iitg.ac.in, the official website of IIT GATE.

The release date of the admission card has been rescheduled from January 2, 2026."The releasing date of the GATE 2026 admission card has been postponed," the official website states.The updated release date will be revealed shortly.

Exams Dates of GATE 

The dates of the GATE 2026 exam are February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.The exam will be administered in two shifts: a morning session from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and an afternoon session from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.There will be thirty test papers in GATE 2026.One or up to two test papers may be taken by a candidate.

What's New In GATE 2026

• Two new topics, Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM), are the two new courses.As a result, there are now thirty subjects in all.
• Students applying for the GATE Exam 2026 can also choose two alternative papers from the recommended range of combinations, according to another recently implemented amendment.
• The required 10+2+4 (ongoing) eligibility requirements for GATE-2026 have been loosened to a minimum 10+2+3 (ongoing), allowing individuals in their third year of undergraduate study to take the test.
• As a result, candidates have more chances to enhance their performance and obtain better employment opportunities.
• The GATE Exam 2026 will consist of only objective test papers.Multiple Choice inquiries (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and/or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) inquiries are examples of the question pattern.

Applications for GATE are open to anyone who has successfully completed 10+2+2 or 10+3+1 and is presently enrolled in third or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR who has previously graduated from any government-approved degree program in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, or the arts.
