The Redmi K90 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most aggressive smartphone launches of 2026, and honestly, it looks like Xiaomi is done playing safe.

According to fresh leaks from Chinese tipsters, the Redmi K90 Ultra could debut as early as April in China, much earlier than its predecessor, the Redmi K80 Ultra, which launched in June 2025. If the reports hold true, this device isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a performance statement.

Redmi K90 Ultra Launch Timeline

A reliable Weibo tipster claims a performance-focused Redmi sub-series phone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is in development. While the name wasn’t explicitly mentioned, all signs point toward the Redmi K90 Ultra.

The model number 2604FRK1EC has already appeared in the GSMA IMEI database back in December 2025. The “2604” prefix strongly hints at an April 2026 launch window in China.

Interestingly, the phone will reportedly use the Dimensity 9500, not the rumored Dimensity 9500 Plus. The Plus variant is expected later this year. That tells me Xiaomi is prioritizing stability and early availability over waiting for marginal chip gains.

Redmi K90 Ultra Specs

Here’s where things get exciting.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is tipped to feature:

  • 6.8-inch display

  • 1.5K resolution

  • 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate

  • Built-in cooling fan (first for a Xiaomi phone)

  • Massive 8,500mAh battery

  • 100W fast charging

  • Metal frame

  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

  • Full water resistance

Let’s pause on that cooling fan. A built-in active cooling system is rare in mainstream Xiaomi phones. This screams gaming focus. Combine that with a 165Hz refresh rate, and it’s clear Xiaomi wants competitive gamers’ attention.

And that 8,500mAh battery? That’s borderline tablet territory. If this number holds true, battery anxiety might finally become irrelevant.

Redmi K90 Ultra Global Variant

Reports also suggest that the Xiaomi 17T Pro will be a tweaked global version of the Redmi K90 Ultra. The global model (2602EPTC0G) may skip the cooling fan and possibly a few other features.

However, since the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra haven’t launched globally yet, the 17T Pro may arrive in the first half of 2026.

If the cooling fan doesn’t make it to global markets, that would be disappointing. Performance users deserve the full package.

Redmi K90 Ultra Price in India

Early listings show that the Redmi K90 Ultra price in India could start around Rs. 42,990. If Xiaomi can keep the price under Rs. 45,000 while offering flagship-grade gaming specs, it could disrupt the premium mid-range segment.

That said, buyers should note that all specifications and pricing are based on leaks and may change upon official announcement.

The Redmi K90 Ultra looks like Xiaomi’s boldest move in years. Instead of chasing camera gimmicks, it’s focusing on raw performance, gaming endurance and battery life.

If even 80% of these leaks are accurate, this phone could dominate conversations in 2026.

And honestly? The smartphone industry needs this kind of competition again.
