The Tata Punch Facelift Launch is finally happening today, January 13, and this isn’t just another routine update. This is Tata Motors fixing almost everything buyers complained about since the Punch debuted in 2021. With hours left before prices are announced, the facelifted Punch arrives as a sharper, more powerful and far more premium version of India’s favorite micro-SUV.
For Tata, the Punch has been a volume monster. For buyers, this update feels overdue, and from what we know so far, it looks worth the wait as it promises to deliver a much more refined and modern driving experience for enthusiasts.
Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Design
Tata has clearly borrowed inspiration from the Punch EV, and that’s a smart move. The facelift keeps the familiar boxy silhouette but adds far more presence.

Key exterior updates include the following:
- New LED headlamps with sleeker LED DRLs
- Updated grille and redesigned front and rear bumpers
- New alloy wheels and refreshed LED tail-lamp cluster
- Auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear wiper-washer
There’s no full-width LED light bar at the front, but frankly, the cleaner look suits the Punch better. It now looks less “cute” and more SUV-like, and that matters in this segment.
Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Six New Colors
Color options matter more than brands admit, and Tata has gone bold here. Buyers will get six shades:
- Pristine White
- Daytona Grey
- Bengal Rouge
- Cyantific Blue
- Coorg Clouds
- Caramel
Some of these colors are borrowed from premium Tata models like the Sierra, instantly lifting the Punch’s visual appeal. The Caramel shade, in particular, will turn heads on the road with its unique and sophisticated appearance that highlights the vehicle's bold lines.

Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Cabin
Step inside, and this is where the facelift makes its biggest statement. The dashboard layout is familiar, but everything around it feels upgraded.

Notable cabin upgrades are listed below:
- Larger touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- 7-inch fully digital driver display
- Touch-based HVAC controls
- Flat-bottom steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo
- Wireless phone charger and Type-C fast charging ports
- Rear AC vents, front armrest and connected car tech
Higher variants also get a single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera, features buyers genuinely want today, not gimmicks.
Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Safety Features
Tata isn’t backing down on safety, and that deserves credit. Higher variants offer six airbags, along with ESC, TPMS, rear camera and other essentials. In a segment where safety is often compromised to save costs, Tata is clearly taking a stand.

Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Turbo-Petrol Engine
This is the headline update. The Punch finally gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, borrowed from the Nexon.
Expected specs are listed below:
- Around 118-120 bhp
- 170 Nm of torque
- 6-speed manual gearbox
Alongside this, Tata will continue offering:
- 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
- 1.2-litre petrol with CNG using dual-cylinder tech
In my view, the turbo engine alone makes the facelift feel like a completely new car. This was the missing piece.

Tata Punch Facelift Launch: Pricing
The facelifted Punch will be sold in six trims, Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S. Prices will be revealed later today.
The current Punch ranges between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect a slight hike, but if Tata keeps it sensible, this facelift could dominate rivals like the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3 and Renault Kiger.
Tata has played this perfectly. Better design, more features, stronger engine and solid safety, if pricing stays realistic, the Punch facelift is not just updated, it’s upgraded in every sense.
