At this year's event, her film Arth will also be shown in a special screening.

"It is a privilege for MAMI to honor Shabana Azmi, an iconic actor, with the Excellence in Cinema Award this year," said Festival Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur in a press release shared by the MAMI team.

Will Receive Award On October 18

On October 18, MAMI will give Shabana Azmi the Excellence in Cinema Award. On October 19, there will be a masterclass in which Shabana will talk with actor Vidya Balan, who won a National Award, about her journey and experiences over the past five decades in the industry.

"I'm overwhelmed, because when my first film, 'Ankur,' was released on September 24, 1974, you would knock me down with a feather if you told me I would still be working 50 years later," she stated in an interview with ANI.
