Sawan Somwar will start from 22nd July

According to the Panchang, the month of Sawan will start from 22nd July. At the same time, it will end on 19th August. This month is very dear to Mahadev, the God of Gods. Lord Shiva is worshipped on Monday. Also, a fast is observed to get the desired groom. It is a religious belief that by doing this, all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled and Mahadev is pleased.

Why is Sawan Somwar Celebrated

According to mythological beliefs, the first reason behind this is that Chandradev had worshipped Lord Shiva on Monday itself, due to which he got a healthy body. Get up early on Sawan Monday and start the day with the meditation of Mahadev and Mata Parvati. After this, take a bath and wear clothes. Offer water to Sun God with a true heart. Clean the temple and purify it with Gangajal. Now do Abhishek of Lord Shiva in a proper way and take a vow of fasting. Now offer fragrance, flowers, incense, Belpatra, Akshat etc. to God. Light a lamp of desi ghee and do Aarti and recite Shiva Chalisa. Also, chanting the mantras of Mahadev also proves to be fruitful. After this, offer fruits, sweets, kheer, halwa, curd and milk.

• Get up early on Sawan Somwar and take a bath and wear clean clothes.
• After this, take a vow of worship.
• Then all the gods and goddesses took a bath with Gangajal.
• While doing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva, keep chanting the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya' in your mind.
• After this, offer Akshat, white flowers, Dhatura, cow milk, white sandalwood, cannabis, Panchamrit, incense, lamp, betel nut and Belpatra to Bholenath.
• Then recite Shiva Chalisa.
• After this, read or listen to the fast story.
• Finally, do the Aarti of Lord Shiva.
• After this, offer food to Lord Shiva and distribute the Prasad among all.
