In 2022, Pakistani artists made a huge global impact. The Legend of Maula Jatt was a hit in the box office and Joyland made it to the Oscars’ shortlist of best International Films. Arooj Aftab became the first ever Pakistani artist to win a Grammy Award and Ali Sethi released the track ‘Pasoori’, with many claiming it “brought India and Pakistan together”.

Amidst all the celebration–and the spotlight–Pakistani celebrity Sanam Saeed is proud of what the country has accomplished. Being one of the most well-known personalities in the industry and a beloved name in India due to her hit show Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Sanam Saeed states that the Pakistani industry is “thriving”.

The actor’s delight is further reinforced with awards: her Zindagi original show Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam was awarded Gold at the Promax India awards 2022 and Asian Academy Creative Awards for best anthology, a recognition she shared with Pakistani actor Sarwat Gilani, Indian producer Shailja Kejriwal (Chief Creative Officer – Special Projects, Zee Entertainment) and British-Indian director Meenu Gaur.
