In the past, Samsung's Galaxy S series was usually released in two models: a standard model and a Plus model with a larger display and battery but similar hardware. However, the lineup was shaken up with the Galaxy S10 when the S10e and S10 lite were released. This was followed by the introduction of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which resulted in the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series. Now, reports from South Korea suggest that the Galaxy Plus models could be cancelled as soon as 2024.

According to a report from TheElec and an anonymous source, Samsung will be releasing only two models for its Galaxy S24 lineup in 2021. The two choices consist of the standard
Galaxy S24 and
The Galaxy S24 Ultra.

However, the publication suggests that Samsung may still add DM2 at a later date, if the smartphone market conditions change. Apple has seen declining sales of the iPhone 14 Plus, as the market for smartphones has become saturated with buyers in developed countries settling for either budget models or premium models.
