RRB Group D CBT Exam Schedule Revised: New Dates Announced

RRB has provided candidates preparing for their RRB Group D 2025 exam with an important update by revising the CBT Exam Schedule, rescheduling the Old Exam Dates that were originally scheduled for January. The RRB has also provided the candidate with further information on Exam City Intimation, Travel Authority, and when to expect the release of Admit Cards.

Below is a simplified version of all the important information that candidates need to be aware of.

RRB Group D 2025: Latest Updates

RRB Group D CBT

The RRB Group D CBT Exam Schedule for the Candidates for Level-1 Posts of 7th CPC Pay Matrix has been revised. Previously, The Computer Based Test (CBT) was to take place between 01 January 2020 - 16 January 2020; the CBT has also changed because it will now take place on multiple dates in January and February 2020. This change will allow for a smoother process for those taking the exam in several different regions.

According to new RRB Group D Notification, RRB Group D CBT 2025 has been rescheduled to take place on:

  1. 8th January 2026 and 9th January 2026
  2. 2nd February 2026 to 10th February 2026

CBT process commenced from 27th November 2025 and will continue as scheduled.

Exam Pattern: What Should Be Expected CBT?

The RRB Group D CBT consists of a total of 100 multiple-choice objective type questions (MCQs) which includes the following categories of questions:

  1. General Science: 25
  2. Mathematics: 25
  3. General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30
  4. General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 

The CBT aims to assess a candidate's basic aptitude, reasoning, and general knowledge related to the railway sector.

RRB Group D 2025: Exam City and Date Slip

The RRB Group D examination city and date notification will be available on the regional RRBs’ official websites approximately 10 days prior to the exam's actual date. Upon accessing the notification link, SC & ST (Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe) candidates will also gain access to a travel authority download link. Once the travel authority download link is activated, candidates will receive notifications of this event via SMS and email to their registered contact details.

RRB Group D Admit Card 2025:Timeline of Release

Admit cards for RRB Group D will be released four days before the scheduled examination date. Candidates must use their login credentials created during registration to obtain and print their admit cards. Candidates will not be permitted to enter exam sites unless they have a valid admission card and a photo ID.

Step2. Click on the “Revised CBT Test Schedule” link located at the bottom of the page

Step3. A PDF document containing the revised test schedule will open in a new window

Step4. Download and save the document for reference

RRB Group D 2025 Vacancy Details

The RRRB Group D initiative will examine a lot of employment within the Indian Railway. There are more than 1 lakh vacancies available for Level 1 positions. Furthermore, there are numerous Assistant level jobs, which include:

  1. Assistant(Work Shop), Assistant Bridge
  2. Assistant C&W
  3. Assistant Depot(Stores).

All of these posts come under 7th CPC pay matrices. Consequently, this particular recruitment competition will be among the most competitive in the Indian Government.

Since the CBT exam schedule has been adjusted, this will give candidates a little additional time to prepare for the test; however, due to the change of dates, candidates should be tracking their regional RRB's (offices) websites regularly, downloading their exam city slip, and admit cards in a timely fashion. Candidatesshould also be using a smart study plan and putting emphasis on their weak areas.
