The Realme Neo 8 is officially launching in China on January 22, but let’s be honest, the phone has already spilled almost all its secrets. From confirmed camera hardware to leaked pricing and some surprisingly bold gaming ambitions, Realme is clearly positioning the Neo 8 as a no-compromise performance flagship. And based on what we know so far, this one is aiming straight at power users, not casual buyers.

Realme Neo 8 camera specs

Realme has now confirmed the camera setup for the Realme Neo 8, and it’s far more ambitious than what we usually see at this price point. The headline feature is the 50MP Sony IMX896 primary sensor, which should deliver strong low-light performance and reliable dynamic range.

What really stands out, though, is the periscope telephoto camera. The phone packs a 50MP periscope lens with:

  • 3.5x optical zoom
  • 7x lossless zoom
  • Up to 120x digital zoom

That’s flagship-grade hardware, no sugarcoating it. The rear setup is completed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while selfies are handled by a 16MP front camera. On paper, the Realme Neo 8 looks ready to challenge phones that cost significantly more, especially for zoom photography lovers.

Realme Neo 8 price leaks

Pricing details for the Realme Neo 8 have reportedly leaked via Oppo’s AI-powered customer support system in China. If these numbers hold true, Realme is playing a very aggressive game.

Expected China pricing:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 2,599 (around ₹31,000)
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: CNY 3,099 (around ₹37,000)
  • 16GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 2,899 (around ₹34,500)
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: CNY 3,399 (around ₹40,000)

For what’s being offered, especially the chipset and battery size, this pricing undercuts several established “flagships.” If Realme manages to maintain these prices, competitors should be worried.

Realme Neo 8 performance and display details

Under the hood, the Realme Neo 8 is confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This is the same class of silicon expected to power 2026’s top Android flagships and Realme claims an AnTuTu score north of 3.5 million.

The display is equally bold. You’re getting a 6.78-inch Samsung M14 OLED panel with:

  • 165Hz refresh rate
  • Peak brightness up to 6,500 nits
  • 1.5K resolution
  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

This is clearly a gamer-focused screen and 165Hz feels like overkill, but in the best possible way.

Realme Neo 8 battery, durability and software focus

Battery life is another area where the Realme Neo 8 goes all in. The phone packs a massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 80W fast charging and bypass charging for gaming. That’s tablet-level endurance in a phone body.

Durability hasn’t been ignored either. Realme has confirmed IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, along with Crystal Armor Glass. This is rare even among premium devices and signals that the Neo 8 is built to survive real-world abuse.

On the software side, the phone runs Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0, with multiple AI-powered features and long-term performance optimization promised for up to five years.

Realme Neo 8 PC gaming mode

One of the most interesting and slightly risky moves is the Realme Neo 8 PC Gaming Mode. According to early leaks, the phone can access the Steam store and run over 50 PC game titles, including popular names like Hollow Knight: Silksong, Dave the Diver and Tomb Raider.

Realme is even planning dedicated physical controllers, turning the Neo 8 into a handheld gaming device. If this feature works smoothly, it could seriously disrupt the mobile gaming space. If it doesn’t, Realme will hear about it, loudly.

Realme Neo 8 launch outlook and final thoughts

As of now, the Realme Neo 8 is confirmed only for China, with no official word on India or global availability. That’s disappointing, especially given the expected India price could hover around Rs. 29,990, a potential steal for what’s on offer.

Realme is swinging for the fences here. The specs are bold, the battery is massive and the gaming ambitions are unusually confident. If Realme delivers stable software and consistent camera tuning, the Neo 8 could easily become one of the most talked-about Android phones of early 2026.

Tomorrow’s launch will tell us how much of this hype turns into reality.
