Nationwide Rail Roko Andolan today has affected several passengers as thousands of farmers across the country are protesting for the arrest of Ajay Mishra Teni. They have blocked more than 30 train routes of North Railway zone due to which scheduled of more than 50 trains hindered.
Here are the latest updates of new routes and a list of trains that will not be departing at their scheduled time for the upcoming hours.
5 Trains Blocked From Ferozpur Division
Train number 04669. 04643, 04492, 04636, and 04487 on the Firozpur division will not run on their regular timings due to heavy blockage. Most of these trains run from Firozpur Cantt, SAS Nagar Mohali, and Fazilka to Ludhiana, Hanumangarh, and more. So, if you are about to travel on this route anytime today, please keep an eye on their new timing.
Trains running from Bahraich, Nanpara, Mailani, Lucknow Junction, and Gorakhpur are canceled on 18th October 2021.

Train number 05009 departed from Gorakhpur Railway station on 17th October is short terminated at Lucknow due to Rail Roko Andolan. The protest will continue for 6 hours.
Why Are Farmers Blocking Railway Tracks?
The reason behind this Farmer’s protest is the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence where 8 farmers were killed by the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra. However, both Ajay and his son Ashish denied the fact of being present at the spot of the incident.
