Poco M8 5G Launching in India on January 8: 120Hz Curved Display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

Ahead of the upcoming launch of the Poco M8 5G in India, Poco has revealed several key features of the smartphone. With the Xiaomi subsidiary confirming details about the display, processor, software updates, and durability, users now have a clear idea of ​​what to expect from the upcoming M-series device.

The smartphone will be available for sale in India on Flipkart on January 8th at 12:00 PM IST.

Poco M8 5G Display Details

The Poco M8 5G's display is one of its standout features. According to the Flipkart microsite, the phone will feature a 6.77-inch Full HD+ 3D curved display with a resolution of 2392 × 1080 pixels. This panel will support a 120Hz refresh rate, guaranteeing smooth scrolling and enhanced gaming.

Reports suggest the display can reach a maximum brightness of up to 3200 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use. For better and more accurate colors, it will also offer 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Additionally, Poco has confirmed Wet Touch 2.0 technology, which ensures the screen remains responsive even when used with wet fingers.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Chipset Performance

The Poco M8 5G's internal components will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. According to Poco, the device boasts an AnTuTu score of over 825,000, which is 83% higher than the Poco M7 5G.

The processor will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM, including 8GB of virtual RAM, to provide smooth multitasking and enhanced performance for both everyday use and gaming.

Android and Software Support Updates

The Poco M8 5G will come pre-installed with HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. Furthermore, Poco has promised long-term software support, including:

• Four years of Android OS updates
• Six years of security patches

According to the company, the phone will be upgraded to Android 16-based HyperOS 3 in the future, making it one of the best-supported phones in its class.

Camera, Durability, and Design

Based on previously leaked information, the Poco M8 5G will be lightweight and thin, weighing 178 grams and measuring 7.35 mm in thickness. Additionally, it will feature SGS MIL-STD-810 certification and an IP66 rating for water and dust resistance, enhancing its durability.

Regarding the camera, it is expected to have a 50MP AI-powered primary camera. Teaser images show a square-shaped camera module in the center of the rear panel, housing two camera sensors and an LED flash.
