PM Narendra Modi recently met with some of India’s most popular gamers to discuss the gaming community’s future. The gamers who met Modi included Animesh Agrawal, Naman Mathur, Mithilesh Patankar, Payal Dhare, Tirth Mehta, Ganesh Gangadhar, and Anshu Bisht. Currently, the Indian gaming community has an audience ranging from 450 to 550 million players.

Seven Indian Gaming Creators Were Part Of Game On Event

As mentioned earlier, seven prominent figures in the Indian gaming scene were part of the “Game On” meet and talk with Prime Minister Modi. They were Anshu “GamerFleet” Bisht, Animesh “Thug” Agarwal, Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, Mithilesh “MythPat” Patankar, Naman “Mortal” Mathur, Payal “Payal” Dhare, and Tirth Mehta.

PM Modi Tried His Hand On Gaming

In a short video shared by ANI on X, formerly known as Twitter, the prime minister is seen discussing the difference between “gaming and gambling” with these young gamers.

He also discussed the opportunities for girls in the industry. He is also seen playing VR games and mobile games with them. As per a report by IANS, in FY23, the Indian gaming industry generated $3.1 billion in revenue, marking a 19 percent growth from $2.6 billion in FY22.

The meeting highlighted the government’s recognition of gaming as an important cultural and economic force. With India boasting between 450 and 550 million gamers and the gaming sector generating $3.1 billion in revenue in FY23, the Prime Minister’s engagement signals a crucial moment for the industry’s future.

As per Invest India, the online gaming is the fourth-largest segment of the Indian Media & Entertainment sector.
