Palghar Lynching: One Accused Of The More Than 100 Suspects Tests Positive For Covid-19

All the accused in the Palgharr lynching case is in police custody. One of them, who was prisoned at Wada police station, has found positive for Covid-19. The accused was first isolated in an isolation ward of Plaghar rural hospital and now shifted to a prisoner ward at JJ Hospital.

He has contracted the virus in a lock-up where he prisoned with 20 other accused, he said.

The 55-year-old accused is one of the Palghar lynching suspects who have been arrested in the crime, including nine minors.

All the other suspects who were prisoned in the lock-up with him will also be tested for the infection.

The accused lived in Wakipada tribal hamlet of Gadchinchale village. District health officials are searching for how he tested positive. Health officials will also visit his village and get samples of the villagers.

All the suspects, including the covid-19 patient, are in police custody till 14 May.
