1. Hattie Mcdaniel First Black Actress who Won the Award

 It was and still is considered one of the memorable moments of Oscar. Hattie McDaniel won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar award in 1940 for the movie Gone With The Wind. She was the first black woman who win the Oscar. It took 20 years for any black actor to win an Oscar again, Sidney Poitier won the Oscar for his role in the movie Lillies of the Field.

Hattie’s achievements are forever written in the history of black women, she won awards at a moment when people were fighting hard for their rights. She was even seated at the edge of the auditorium and separated from the other white cast. 

In her memorable speech, she said “I shall always credit to my race and motion picture industry. My heart is too full to tell you how I feel and may I say thank you and God bless you.”

2. Alfred Hitchcock’s Lifetime Award-winning speech – Shortest Forever

In 1968 at the 40th Academy Awards, Alfred Hitchcock was awarded for his prolonged contribution to the film industry. He was given the Irving G.Thalberg Award, which is the lifetime achievement award in the academy world. In that high time when he called upon the stage, he spoke only a few words for his acceptance speech. 

He said “ Thank You Very much Indeed”

5. Marlon Brando Show Disrespect to the Academy

Marlon Brando was regarded as the all-time favorite actor in the movie apart from his acting career he was also an activist. He was awarded the Best Actor award for his performance in the legendary movie Godfather but he subdued the award and did not appear on the 45th Academy Award due to Hollywood’s bad portrayal of Native Americans.

Instead of him Native American actress Sacheen Littlefeather took the stage on his behalf and politely rejected the award and spoke to the audience that Marlon Brando did not accept the awards due to Hollywood mistreatment and depiction of Native Americans

 Many showed disrespect towards her speech but in 2022 she was apologised by the academy.

At the 46 Academy Awards in 1974, Tatum O’ Neal who was 10 years old won the Academy Award for the supporting role in the movie Paper Moon, To date, she is the youngest actress in Hollywood who has achieved that mark. 

She is the child of the notable actor Ryan O’Neal.

7. Cuba Gooding Long Speech Cut-off by Orchestra

When Cuba Gooding accepted his award on the stage, his acceptance speech took longer than expected, even when the music was playing, he was so enthusiastic he couldn’t stop and began saying thank you to his movie producers & co-stars.

Heath Ledger’s performance as a maniac criminal in the namesake of Joker is remembered by the world as the best performer of all time. But unfortunately, he lost his mind, due to the bad psychological impact it had on his mind and he died due to a drug overdose.

He was given an award posthumously and his parents came to the stage to accept the award.
