The second-generation Mercedes Benz GLC SUV is currently undergoing the final stages of testing ahead of its launch in July. Bookings for the new GLC have been opened unofficially for an amount of Rs 50,000, and sources tell us that deliveries are slated to start in August.

New Mercedes GLC India testing begins
Images of the brand-new GLC SUV undergoing testing in India have been made public by Mercedes. The test car does not appear to be an AMG Line model, as evidenced by the absence of large alloy wheels and star inserts finished in chrome on the grille. The model may be the entry-level trim because it has what appear to be 18-inch alloy wheels and vertical slats in the grille.
New Mercedes GLC powertrain options for India
- The new GLC comes standard with four-wheel drive and two four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, as well as plug-in hybrids with a range of up to 120 kilometers.
- Sources tell us that Mercedes will launch the GLC 200 with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and the GLC 220d with a 2.0-liter diesel engine in India.
- These engines produce 204 horsepower and 320 nm of torque, respectively, in the United States.
- A 48V integrated started motor that generates an additional 23 horsepower will be included in both variants.
New Mercedes GLC exterior and interior
In June of last year, the second-generation GLC was unveiled worldwide. The new GLC has a new range of engines, including three new plug-in hybrid drivetrains, a larger interior, and a more luxurious and technological interior. The styling, on the other hand, is an improvement over the previous model, featuring new details and softer lines. Two screens dominate the interior, which is nearly identical to the new C-class.
New Mercedes GLC expected price, launch timeframe, and rivals
The discontinued Mercedes GLC line had a starting price of Rs 72 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the second-generation GLC to cost around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom) more due to its updated appearance and new technology. The second-generation GLC will go on sale in India at the end of July, and production will begin in August. The new Mercedes GLC will have to compete with the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60 when it goes on sale.
