Ghatasthapana Vidhi (Kalash Sthapana Vidhi)
- For Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana, fill a wide-mouthed earthen pot with soil from a holy place and then sow Saptadhanya in it.
- Then install the Kalash on top of this pot and fill it with water.
- Then tie Kalawa on the Kalash. Also apply Tilak.
- Now place mango or Ashoka leaves on the Kalash.
- After this, wrap the coconut with Jata in a red cloth and place it on the Kalash.
- After this, invoke Mata Rani.
- Worship the Kalash along with Mata Rani every day of Navratri.
Rules of Ghatasthapana
The first one-third of the day is considered best for Kalash Sthapana. Many people consider Abhijit Muhurta to be the best for Ghatasthapana. Kalash Sthapana should be avoided during Kichitra Nakshatra and Vaidhrithi Yoga.
