During the raid, officers found nine hookah pots worth Rs 4,400, and were also accused of using nicotine, which is banned. Munawwar’s test results indicated the presence of nicotine, leading to various sections under the IPC, including the Cigarettes and Tobacco Products Act.

After his release, Munawar Faruqui shared a photo from the airport, looking unaffected by the recent events. Despite the ordeal, he looked relaxed and carefree in the photo, and captioned it with a casual comment about being tired and travelling.
