Motorola is back in the flagship conversation. The Motorola Signature has officially launched in India, and this time, the brand isn’t playing safe or subtle. Priced starting at Rs. 59,999, this is Motorola’s most ambitious phone in years, thin, flashy, packed with numbers that look great on paper, and unapologetically premium.

The phone was unveiled at an event in Mumbai and will go on sale from January 30 via Flipkart. It comes in two Pantone-curated colours including Carbon and Martini Olive, and it looks as premium as Motorola wants you to believe.

Now let’s break down what’s real, what’s impressive, and where Motorola may be overselling the dream.

Motorola Signature price in India and availability details

Motorola has positioned the Signature firmly in flagship territory.

Motorola Signature price in India:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs. 59,999
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: Rs. 64,999
  • 16GB RAM + 1TB storage: Rs. 69,999

Buyers can get:

  • Rs. 5,000 instant discount using HDFC or Axis Bank cards
  • Or an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 5,000

The phone goes on sale from January 30 on Flipkart and will be available nationwide.

At this price, Motorola is clearly chasing buyers who would otherwise look at OnePlus, Samsung or even Apple.

Motorola Signature display and design

The first thing Motorola wants you to notice about the Motorola Signature is how thin it is. At just 6.99mm and 186g, it’s one of the slimmest Android flagships around.

You get:

  • 6.8-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED display
  • Super HD resolution (1264 x 2780 pixels)
  • 165Hz refresh rate
  • Claimed peak brightness of 6,200 nits
  • Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support

In real-world use, that peak brightness number is more marketing than magic, but the panel itself is genuinely top-tier. It’s vibrant, smooth, and easily one of the phone’s strongest points.

The aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, IP68/IP69 rating and MIL-STD-810H certification add confidence, though ultra-thin phones always raise long-term durability questions.

Motorola Signature performance

Motorola Signature runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process.

Key performance specs include the following:

  • Up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM
  • Up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage
  • Android 16 with Motorola Hello UI
  • Promise of up to 7 major Android updates

Performance will be fast, no doubt. But Motorola has opted for the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, not the higher-tier Elite variant used by some rivals. For most users, this won’t matter, but at nearly Rs. 70,000, power users will notice.

Motorola Signature camera setup

Motorola didn’t hold back on camera numbers.

The Motorola Signature camera setup includes these features:

  • 50MP Sony LYT-828 primary camera with OIS
  • 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS
  • 50MP front selfie camera

It supports up to 8K video recording, Dolby Vision HDR and advanced stabilization.

In good lighting, the results are excellent. Where Motorola still needs refinement is consistency between lenses, something rivals have already mastered.

Motorola Signature battery and connectivity details

Powering the phone is a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 41 hours of usage.

Charging features include the following:

  • 90W wired fast charging
  • 50W wireless charging
  • Reverse wired and wireless charging

Connectivity is future-ready with:

  • 5G
  • Wi-Fi 7
  • Bluetooth 6.0
  • USB-C 3.1 with DisplayPort

Battery size feels conservative in 2026, especially with a 165Hz display, but fast charging helps soften the blow.

Motorola Signature verdict: bold move, but at a risky price

The Motorola Signature is Motorola’s loudest statement in years. It’s stylish, ultra-thin, and loaded with features that look fantastic in headlines. For fans of clean Android, premium design and cutting-edge displays, this phone will be tempting.

But at Rs. 59,999 and above, Motorola is asking buyers to trust the brand’s long-term software promises and accept a few compromises made in the name of thinness.

This isn’t a safe flagship, it’s a statement phone. And whether that statement ages well will depend on how Motorola supports it after the launch hype fades.
