Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Global's first electric SUV, eVitara, will be launched in India in December 2025, available in three trims, and will offer a range of 500 km on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara launched in India
Showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo (India Mobility Expo) earlier this year, the eVitara is the company's first electric vehicle. It marks eVitara's first step into electric mobility and is a significant move for Maruti Suzuki to showcase its manufacturing capacity and promote the Indian government's ‘Make in India‘ initiative.
The Maruti Suzuki eVitara will be launched in the country in December 2025.
It will be manufactured only at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant. Global models will also be produced from here and then sent to those markets. There will also be a Toyota counterpart to the eVitara, which will be known as the Urban Cruiser EV, and it will also be prepared here.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara safety 3 different trims eVitara
3 different trims eVitara will be launched in India in three different trim levels as it will be sold through Nexa outlets. The range starts from Delta, and we will also get Zeta and Alpha. Its main competitors include the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and to some extent the Mahindra BE 6.
Three different trims/Variant are as follows:
- Delta
- Zeta
- Alpha
FWD layout standard
All Maruti eVitara trims launched in India will come with the FWD layout as standard. Therefore, there will be no dual-motor variant at launch. Maruti will likely offer two different battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Based on the battery option, Maruti Suzuki will offer a maximum power of either 142 bhp or 172 bhp with a single FWD motor.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara Feature-packed interior
Maruti Suzuki leaves no stone unturned when it comes to features and tools. The eVitara will come with a floating centre console, 2-spoke steering wheel, soft-touch plastics on the dashboard and doors, a glass roof, a large touchscreen infotainment screen, a TFT instrument cluster, auto climate control, ventilated seats and much more. The eVitara is smaller in size compared to its rivals, with a length of 4.27 metres.
- However, it has a 2,700 mm long wheelbase, which provides ample space inside.
- The eVitara promises a maximum range of approximately 500 km on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara safety features:
It comes with Level-2 ADAS along with seven airbags, hill hold control, ABS, EBD, brake assist, disc brakes on all wheels, ESP, active cornering control, seat belt adjuster, ISOFIX child anchorage, 360-degree camera, parking sensors, TPMS, auto IRVM, e-call and other safety features.
