Mahindra XEV 9S Launch
Mahindra will officially launch its new SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9S, in India on November 27th. Notably, this SUV will be the country's first electric seven-seater SUV.

The company will include several new features in this SUV. The stitching pattern of the seats can be seen in the interior clips. A silver plate has been added to the shoulder area of ​​the seat, giving it a premium finish. Additionally, this SUV may feature connected LED DRLs, LED lights, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, Dolby Atmos support, soft-touch materials, memory seats, and an electronic parking brake. is inspired by the XUV700, but its electric focus gives it a more aerodynamic and premium look. The front features slim LED DRLs, split headlamps, and a full-width lightbar with a new butterfly logo. The side profile features flush door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, and side skirts.
The rear features smoked LED taillights and clean surfaces. It is expected to be around 4.8 meters in length, slightly longer than the XUV700, to provide better third-row space. It will be available in 6- or 7-seater configurations, with sliding and reclining seats in the first and second rows. The flat-floor design makes access to the third row easier.

The cabin is tech-rich, resembling the XEV 9e. The triple-screen cabin includes a digital driver display, a central infotainment screen, and a passenger screen. There are BYOD-style screen holders for rear passenger entertainment. Other features include a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, multi-color ambient lighting, a Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, Groove Me mode, remote parking, dual-zone climate control, multiple wireless chargers, and connected car tech.
Best for daily driving with a mileage of 70 kmpl, the 'Boss Mode' function allows the front passenger seat to slide forward for more legroom in the second row. The driver's seat has three memory presets. Boot space has been expanded with a dual-cargo area, and rear AC vents enhance comfort. Safety features include Level-2 ADAS, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, and front and rear parking sensors.
Mahindra XEV 9S Battery, Motor, and Range Powertrain

The Mahindra XEV 9S comes with two battery pack options: a 59 kWh and a 79 kWh LFP battery. The former produces 231 PS of power and a range of 542 km (MIDC), while the latter offers 286 PS of power, 380 Nm of torque, and a range of 656 km. Both come standard with RWD, with AWD expected later. Fast charging support will also be available.
What will be the price of the Mahindra XEV 9S?
Mahindra will reveal the exact price at launch. However, the SUV is expected to launch in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of around ₹20 lakh.
Competition?
No other manufacturer offers an option in the seven-seat electric SUV segment in India. However, this SUV will compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Tata Harrier EV. It will also compete with the soon-to-be-launched Tata Sierra EV.
