Mahakumbh 2025 has started from Monday (January 13) in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Mahakumbh 2025 was inaugurated with the first royal bath of Paush Purnima. Lakhs of devotees took a dip in the confluence of holy Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati. By 9:30 am, 60 lakh devotees had taken a dip of faith, and this number is estimated to reach one crore throughout the day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the launch of Maha Kumbh 2025, “Mahakumbh is a unique celebration of the greatness and faith of Indian culture. My best wishes to all the devotees. This festival reflects the grandeur of Indian traditions and spirituality.” Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a statement from Prayagraj saying, “Mahakumbh 2025 is a grand and divine event, in which crores of devotees from the country and abroad are expressing their faith by bathing in Sangam. The administration has ensured all the preparations to make this event a success. I welcome all the devotees.”
Flowers will be showered from helicopters
Crores of devotees from the country and abroad are participating in the Maha Kumbh, which is held at an interval of 4 years. This time the Uttar Pradesh government has made special arrangements to make it grand. Rose petals will be showered on the devotees from helicopters. There is a provision of cheap helicopter rides for tourists. Cultural programs will be organized. Along with this, strong arrangements have been made for the security of the fair.

The saints of Juna Akhara took a dip first
Juna Akhara took a dip first in the first royal bath of Maha Kumbh. According to tradition, the royal bath begins with the bath of saints and akhadas. Naga sadhus of Juna akhada reached the banks of Sangam with a grand procession. After them, other major akhadas took bath in sequence.
