The director of the Oscar-winning Telugu film RRR, SS Rajamouli has set high standards with his outstanding work. He has taken the graph of the Telugu film industry to next level.

SS Rajamouli’s religious beliefs
In a recent interview with The Yorker, SS Rajamouli talked about his religious beliefs. He said that he has always been influenced by the teachings of Ramayana and Mahabharata which is also reflected in his movies.
But for now, he is an atheist. As he says, there was a time when he used to wear saffron clothes and used visit pilgrimages with family. And he started living like a sanyasi (ascetic). Then he also practiced Christianity, read Bible, and visited church regularly. However, he felt that religion made him feel bounded.
Although, he still believes in the stories of Mahabharata and Ramayana, and his love for God is not dismissed. “My work is somehow influenced by the religious texts as those texts are an ocean of new thoughts” the Bahubali director added.

SS Rajamouli’s recent film RRR which also won the Oscar award is also based on two historical characters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
