With a consistent performance for the Indian team, cricketer KL Rahul has earned an important place in the team over the years. There was a time when everyone looks up to Rahul in every tense situation. Whether it comes to batting, wicket-keeping, or captaincy, he was our best man.
Talking of his stats, Rahul smashed 14 centuries and 47 half-centuries in his 6 years international career. However, the situation of the young superstar is not so good nowadays.
Due to his consistently bad performance in all formats, BCCI already removed him as the vice-captain of the ODI and T20 squads. They replaced him with an Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

BCCI Removed KL Rahul As the Vice-captain of Indian Test Cricket Team
As of now, India is facing Australia in 4 matches Test series. With the mind-blowing performance of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, team India has already won its first two matches.
But the performance of Indian vice-captain KL Rahul has been below average in both matches. He only scored 38 runs yet. And talking of the last 12 innings, KL has only scored 198 runs.

Thereafter, BCCI recently revealed the squad for the 3rd Test match against Australia. They have made no changes in the squad, except for one thing. The board didn’t appoint any vice-captain for the team.
And this thing directly indicates that BCCI has second thoughts about it. Probably, they are planning to reconsider the vice-captain for the Indian Test team.
As per the reports of The Indian Express, the management asked Rohit Sharma to select his new vice-captain. He has full authority to choose the one who will take charge in his absence.

Indian cricket coach Rahul Dravid also made his statement about KL Rahul. He said, “I think he needs to trust his processes. This is just a phase, he has been one of our most successful overseas openers. He’s got hundreds in South Africa and England, we’ll continue to back him. I believe he has the quality and class to come out of this.”
