A Kenyan athlete, Agnes Tirop, who brought two bronze medals for her country had a tragic end to her life. A Kenyan hero by all measures painfully lost her young life through a criminal act perpetrated by selfish and cowardly people said the President of Kenya.

Agnes Tirop was stabbed in the neck with a sharp knife. Suspecting its murder, Police conduct an investigation and interrogated her family and close friends. What they found during the process was surprising and painful for everyone.

Tirop’s husband was the first to inform her parents about the incident. He made a call crying and asking for forgiveness. Police suspect him of a murderer but the reason is unknown.

President Uhuru urged law agencies and police to investigate the matter and arrest the murder.

Tirop was very popular in her country for her outstanding performances on the global stage. She was a junior champion, second-youngest gold medalist, and a world record holder. Agnes was the winner of the 2015 World Cross Country Championships and had also won bronze twice in the 10,000 m World Championships in 2017 and 2019.

She had also broken a world record by Moroccon athlete Asmae in a 10km marathon by finishing it in record timing of 30:01 secs.
