Privacy of around 2.5 million Android users is at risk because Joker malware has made its way to their smartphone once again. This popular malware attacks Android devices through apps on Google Play Store.
Around 47.1% of communication apps, 39.2 % tools, 5.9% personalization apps, photography, and health-related apps are found infected, as per ThreatLabZ.

Zscaler ThreatLabZ has found this potential threat along with two more families of malware that are gaining their hold on the Google store.
ThreatlLabZ immediately warned the platform about the malicious software soon after which it took off around 50 apps.
Google Play Store has also asked android users to remove those apps, if installed, immediately to stay safe.

Another malware is coper which targets mostly the applications developed for banking purposes by showing itself as QR scanners. It appears as a free and legitimate application to gain users’ trust.
Once they download the app, it asks for an update. It then installs malware through the Google firebase app developer tool.

After this process gets done, it asks for accessibility permission to continue using the app and then takes full control of the device.
It sends SMS, intercepts them, provides device locking services, and even uninstalls apps on their own.
Attack is done through a C2 service remotely and steals users’ money. These malwares are dangerous so if android users have downloaded any apps mentioned above they should immediately uninstall them.
