Valentine's Day (1)

Valentine's Day is celebrated in memory of Saint Valentine. There is a very interesting story behind it. Once upon a time, in the third century, Roman Emperor Claudius forbade soldiers from marrying. He believed that marriage weakened soldiers. Therefore, he banned the marriage of young men. However, Saint Valentine disobeyed the king's orders and secretly arranged marriages for several soldiers.

But when the king learned of this, he sentenced Saint Valentine to death on February 14th. It is said that while imprisoned, Saint Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter and, before his execution, wrote her a letter, "From your Valentine." Since then, this day has been considered a symbol of love, and February 14th is celebrated as Valentine's Day.
