IND vs PAK U19 Asia Cup 2025: In a high-voltage Group A match of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 played in Dubai on Sunday, India registered a resounding 90-run victory over Pakistan. A disciplined bowling performance led by Kanishk Chauhan and Deepesh Devendran ensured that Pakistan never came close to the target after India posted a competitive score.

This victory further solidified India's position in the tournament and underscored their all-round dominance in one of the most anticipated matches of the competition.

The match, delayed due to rain and reduced to 49 overs per side, saw Pakistan win the toss and elect to bowl. India were bowled out for 240 in 46.1 overs, a challenging score on the slightly slow Dubai pitch.

Kerala batsman Aaron George played the anchor role, scoring a composed 85 runs off 88 balls, including 12 fours and a six. His innings provided much-needed stability to the team after early wickets fell.

Indian captain Ayush Mhatre provided the early impetus to the innings, scoring 38 runs off just 25 balls, including four fours and three sixes, before being dismissed within the first 10 overs.

All-rounder Kanishk Chauhan added crucial runs towards the end, scoring 46 runs, including three sixes, to take India past the 230-run mark.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Saiyam was the most successful bowler, taking 3 wickets for 67 runs. Abdul Subhan also picked up 3 wickets for 42 runs, while Nikab Shafiq took two wickets.

Despite these efforts, Pakistan couldn't prevent India from reaching a defendable score, especially due to Chauhan's late flourish.

Pakistan's chase faltered early

Chasing 241, Pakistan's innings got off to the worst possible start. Within the powerplay, they had already lost 4 wickets for 30 runs, with fast bowler Deepesh Devendran wreaking havoc in his opening spell.

Devendran picked up three wickets in the initial overs and finished with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 16 runs, putting India firmly in control of the match. Kanishk Chauhan then broke the back of the chase.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Kanishk Chauhan's off-spin bowling began. He dismissed key batsmen in the middle overs and finished with 3 wickets for 33 runs.

Pakistan's batsman Huzaifa Ahsan fought a lone battle, scoring 70 runs off 83 balls, but received little support from the other end. Captain Farhan Yusuf could only manage 23 runs, and wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Ultimately, Pakistan were all out for 150 runs in 41.2 overs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi fails to fire in the big match

All eyes were on 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had surprised everyone with a magnificent 171 against UAE earlier in the tournament. However, the young left-handed batsman failed to replicate that form against Pakistan.

Suryavanshi was dismissed for just 5 runs off 6 balls, bowled by Mohammad Saiyam in the fourth over. The pacer bowled a slower ball, and the youngster hit it straight back, paying the price for playing with hard hands.

The wicket was met with wild celebrations in the Pakistan camp, highlighting the significance of the breakthrough.

IND vs PAK: No handshake protocol continues

In a notable moment, players from both teams did not shake hands at the toss or after the match, continuing the 'no-handshake' protocol adopted by the Indian men's team in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. India had earlier refused to accept the trophy from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. India maintained its strong hold in the U19 Asia Cup 2025.

With this impressive victory, India U19 sent a strong message to the other teams in the tournament. Their balanced performance with both bat and ball showcased depth, discipline, and excellent game awareness.
