IND vs PAK: India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets to win the Asia Cup final, but a strange incident occurred after this victory. The Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The reason behind this decision has now been revealed, and it is related to social media.
Naqvi had shared posts critical of India on social media
In fact, the Indian players refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi because he had shared some objectionable posts on the social media platform X. One of these posts included a photo titled "Final Day," showing Pakistani players like captain Salman Agha and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi wearing flight suits against a backdrop of fighter jets. Seeing this photo, the Indian team believed it was more of a display of military might than a sporting event.

Speaking to NAI news agency about the Indian team's refusal to accept the trophy, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said, "Team India has decided not to accept the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi.
We have decided not to accept the Asia Cup 2025 trophy from the ACC President, who is a prominent leader in Pakistan. However, this does not mean that he will take the trophy along with the medals. Therefore, this is very unfortunate. We hope that the trophy and medals will be returned to India as soon as possible. The ICC conference is in Dubai in November. We will lodge a very serious and strong protest against the actions of the ACC President at the next conference."
