IND vs NZ 1st ODI: The moment fans have been eagerly waiting for is finally arriving. The date is January 11th. On this day, the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand will begin. The first match will be played at the cricket stadium in Baroda, and preparations are complete. Star players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and captain Shubman Gill arrived there last week. Now, four more players have joined the team. This includes Shreyas Iyer, who has fully recovered from his injury and has received the green light from the BCCI. He is fully fit and is expected to be included in the playing eleven for the first match.

Cricbuzz reported that four players joined Team India on January 8th. These include Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja, who were busy playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. All team members were supposed to arrive in Baroda by January 7th, but these four played for their respective state teams in the 7th round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on the 8th. This is why their joining the team was delayed. After joining the team, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja will now participate in the practice sessions. It is almost certain that all of them will find a place in the playing eleven.

IND vs NZ: These four players were part of different teams

Shreyas Iyer was the captain of the Mumbai team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Pant was captaining the Delhi team, and Ravindra Jadeja was part of the Saurashtra team, while Mohammed Siraj was playing for Hyderabad. Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have been rested for the series against New Zealand. Hardik was also playing for the Baroda team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, while Bumrah is currently away from the field.

In the top order of the Indian team against New Zealand, we will see Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, while the middle order includes names like KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav will be in the spin department. Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh have been given a chance in the fast bowling department.
