IND vs ENG: The Indian team can be announced today for the remaining three matches of the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England. Virat Kohli, who was unavailable in the initial matches, may remain out of the next three matches also.
The third match of this series will be played in Rajkot from 15th February while the second match will be played in Ranchi. Whereas, the final match will be played on March 7. Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul may return in the third test match. Both could not be a part of the last match due to injury.
Currently, both the players are under the supervision of the BCCI medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
IND vs ENG Before Match Details
Before the team selection, on Thursday, star all-rounder Jadeja shared a post and informed that he is better than before. He posted a picture on his Insta handle with the caption, “Getting better. #NCA.” At the same time, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj will also be available for selection in the upcoming matches.
He was rested in the Test match played in Visakhapatnam. Siraj was made a part of the playing 11 in the first Test match, but he could not do justice to his name. He did not get any wickets in both the innings against England.
Virat had returned from Hyderabad
According to media reports, Virat joined the team in Hyderabad on January 22 before the start of the series against England, but on the same day, he made himself unavailable for the first two Test matches citing personal reasons. He returned from Hyderabad the same day. BCCI had also stated in this regard. It is still believed that due to personal reasons Virat will not be able to play the next two tests.
Virat Kohli may be out of the fifth test also
Anushka Sharma, wife of batsman Virat Kohli, is going to become a mother for the second time. This information was given by Kohli’s special friend AB de Villiers. This is the reason why apart from the second and third Test, he may also be out of the fifth match.
PTI report claims that Virat is also expected to miss the fifth Test (7-11 March). A BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity, “BCCI has made it clear time and again that when it comes to family matters, it firmly stands by the cricketer and will be ready to return when he is ready to return.” So it will be Virat’s decision. At the moment it does not seem likely that he will play further in this series.”
