China to overtake US in AI research: Study

Future scope of Artificial Intelligence is the powerful weapon for which global companies are competing for. When it comes to AI power, everyone wants to top the list and with that China appears to have overachieved its own goal.

In 2017, the Chinese Government published a paper, underlining its plan to become the world leader in AI by the year 2030.

However, as per the new study, the country is soon ready to overtake the US and become global number one, a decade ahead of schedule.

With a huge amount of AI letters to be published each year for honest government investment in both academic facilities and private industry.

As per the latest technology updates, the new research from Seattle-based Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI2) not only measured the number of research papers by China but how often they are noted to measure their influence.

Until the end of 2018, the researchers analyzed more than two million AI papers published to reveal that China is balanced to overtake the US in the most-cited 50 percent of papers this year, in the most-cited 10 percent of papers by 2020, and rest 1 percent of most-cited papers by 2025.
