ICCI ODI Rankings: Chahal breaks into top five among bowlers

India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came under the top five among the bowlers in the updated ICC ODI players rankings, delivered on Monday.

Chahal carried up by one place to take the figure five position. His team-mate Bhuvneshwar Kumar set up six places to obtain the 17th spot.

New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult has risen in the list after settling with 12 wickets in the series against India, which terminated in Wellington on Sunday. He has turned up seven places to catch the third position, with only India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan ahead of him.

Among the batsmen, captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni brought up three places to secure 17th position during a run, which consists of three consecutive half-centuries for a player of the series award against Australia.

Middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav, who now rests at 35th spot, is another one to advance for India in the list led by their team India captain Virat Kohli.

In the ODI Team rankings, India has obtained one point and retained their number two spot. New Zealand has moved behind South Africa to take the fourth place. Achieving the top five led by England, Pakistan takes a seat below New Zealand.
