Heatwave Alert: The period of severe heat continues in Madhya Pradesh. Despite the presence of clouds yesterday in Bhopal, the capital of MP, there was no relief from the heat. MP has been scorching in the last 24 hours and will heat up like a furnace today too. There were 26 districts of MP where the temperature was 40-45 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, the temperature in Sidhi reached 48.8 degrees. At the same time, the temperature in Khajuraho was 47 degrees and in Prithvipur of Niwari, it was 46.6 degrees Celsius. While 45.8 degrees were recorded in Datia, 45.1 in Gwalior, and 46.3 degrees in Singrauli. Talking about the weather in Chhattisgarh, people are also troubled by the scorching heat here. The temperature in Raipur has reached 45 degrees.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning on Friday. Heatwave warnings have been issued in Rajgarh, Guna, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Satna, Chhatarpur, Panna, Niwari, and Maihar.

Along with this, light rain may occur in Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Anuppur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Rewa, Mauganj, Shahdol, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Sagar and Pandhurna. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people not to leave their homes between 12 and 3 pm unless there is some urgent work.

Most deaths in Varanasi and Surrounding Areas

At the same time, more than 160 people have lost their lives due to severe heatwavesand severe heat in Uttar Pradesh. The highest number of 72 deaths in UP have occurred in Varanasi and its surrounding areas.

47 people have died in Bundelkhand and Kanpur divisions. Here 14 people have died in Mahoba, 13 in Hamirpur, five in Banda. Apart from this, information has come to light about the death of four people in Kanpur and two in Chitrakoot. At the same time, three people died in Farrukhabad, Jalaun, and Hardoi.

Apart from this, 11 people died due to a heatwave in Prayagraj, 6 in Jhansi, 4 in Ambedkarnagar, 9 in Kaushambi, 4 including a newborn in Ghaziabad, 3 in Gorakhpur and Agra, a total of five people died in Pratapgarh, Rampur, Lakhimpur, Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit.

Temperature broke old records

On Thursday, May 30, the heat broke a 29-year-old record in Lucknow. The maximum temperature here reached 45.1 degrees Celsius. Earlier, on May 31, 1995, the maximum temperature was recorded at 46.5 degrees Celsius.

This year so far, Phalodi in Rajasthan has been the hottest area. Temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius were recorded here. Apart from this, a record maximum temperature was also recorded in Najafgarh, Delhi. Here the mercury has reached 48 degrees.
