Recently, Google CEO Sundar Pichai requested all employees to dedicate 2-4 hours of their time to improve the AI chatbot, Bard. The idea was for employees to test the chatbot by asking it questions and flagging incorrect answers.

However, some employees have expressed their discontent with the request, stating that it came just after Google laid off around 12,000 employees in response to a revenue slowdown caused by the pandemic.
They have taken to internal message boards to share their concerns and ask Bard about the recent layoffs and the treatment of employees.
These conversations and memes suggest that employees are unhappy with being given extra work while they feel their job performance is under greater scrutiny.

Bard responded that the CEO's intention might be cheerful and optimistic, but it would be inappropriate to ask employees to play with the chatbot at this time,
A number of Google employees have shared their interactions with the company's AI chatbot, Bard, on topics such as the recent layoffs and employee treatment.
In one conversation, Bard was asked whether it was appropriate for Google to fire people via email without any farewell messages, to which Bard replied that it was a very impersonal way of dismissing someone.
