After Facebook’s dubious ‘Research App’ was declared, Google disabled its private iOS app that intruded on a user’s iPhone usage.
The app, Screenwise Meter, allowed users gift cards in change for tracking their internet usage data.
As per Engadget reports, the iOS version of the app worked under Apple’s developer enterprise program, which authorizes distribution of apps with exclusive privileges to be used only by a company’s employees.

Google has disabled the app on iOS devices and apologized for the fault. The company underlined that the app is wholly voluntary and that it doesn’t have an approach to encrypted data in apps on devices.
