Global IndiaAI Summit 2024 Will begin Today, Key Highlights of the event

The Global IndiaAI Summit 2024 will begin in New Delhi on 3rd July. Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate the summit today. The two-day summit will have multiple sessions to discuss in-depth discussions on critical aspects of AI applications, governance, fostering talent and scaling AI innovation. India has reiterated its commitment to harnessing the transformative potential of AI by prioritising responsible AI development while safeguarding ethical standards and inclusivity.

•  Global IndiaAI Summit 2024: Large Language Models: This session will focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Large Multimodal Models (LMMs), addressing India's unique linguistic and cultural diversity. It will explore how LLMs can address challenges related to multilingualism and discuss ethical considerations and biases. The session aims to promote responsible AI practices and encourage collaboration between indigenous communities, academia, industry, and startups.
• GPAI Conference on Global Health and AI: This conference aims to gather insights on the use of AI in healthcare, primarily focusing on challenges faced by Global South countries. It will include experts from various sectors, including government, international organizations, academia, industry, and civil society, who will refine GPAI’s focus and explore new directions of healthcare AI.
•  Global IndiaAI Summit 2024: Real-world AI solutions: This session will present case studies and panel discussions on real-world AI solutions, identifying gaps in AI development and deployment. The session aims to create a world-class ecosystem by advancing AI knowledge and innovation through collaboration with industry, academia, startups, and other stakeholders.

•  Global IndiaAI Summit 2024: India’s infrastructure readiness for AI: This panel discussion will focus on India’s infrastructure readiness for AI, emphasizing the critical role of developing scalable AI compute infrastructure and a skilled workforce. Strategies to make advanced AI computing services affordable for startups and researchers will also be considered.
•  Global IndiaAI Summit 2024: Ensuring Safety, Trust and Governance in the AI ​​Era: This session will highlight India’s commitment to leveraging AI for the good of society, focusing on ethical guidelines, international collaboration, and developing safe and reliable AI.
• Collaborative AI on Global Partnership (CAIGP): The CAIGP conference will bring together GPAI members, AI experts, and industry representatives to address the global AI divide. It will focus on developing mechanisms to democratize AI resources and identify roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in advancing the objectives of CAIGP.

•  Global IndiaAI Summit 2024: Empowering Talent through AI Education and Skilling: This session will focus on AI education and skills, addressing industry demand, challenges, and growth opportunities. It will guide skilling and upskilling in essential AI technologies, and showcase success stories and diverse career paths in AI.
• AI for Global Good: Empowering the Global South: This session will bring together the global South to discuss specific challenges and priorities in AI development. It will explore mechanisms to empower the voices of the global South and consider creating a new multilateral organization to address their collective challenges.
• IndiaAI: From Seed to Scale – Empowering India’s Startup Ecosystem: This session aims to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem, ensuring that AI startups are well-equipped to innovate and scale. Strategies to support and foster the growth of AI startups will be explored.
• IndiaAI: Data Ecosystem: This session will focus on developing resilient and scalable data infrastructure, with an emphasis on robust data governance frameworks, data sharing, and reducing data bias to ensure ethical AI systems.

• AI Competency Framework for Public Sector: This session will explore the AI ​​readiness of India's public sector, with reference to UNESCO's report on AI competencies and the Capacity Building Commission's framework for AI upskilling. It will identify specific AI competencies required for public officials and provide guidelines for future training programs.
• Sustainable Agriculture: This session will build on the success of the GPAI Virtual Summit, focusing on crop advisories, market access and financial services for farmers, and climate-resilient agriculture. Case studies and panel discussions will explore cross-sectoral opportunities for enhancing agricultural production through AI.
• AI-related challenges and issues to be discussed: Regarding this AI-related event, the Ministry of Electronics and IT says that with this summit, international AI experts from science, industry, civil society, governments, international organisations and academia will share views on key AI issues and challenges.
